Pavement Ant
Tetramorium caespitum
Another common ant that can invade your home without causing any structural damage is the Pavement Ant. They are a nuisance because of where they will nest and their foraging activities. They are usually seen pushing up small mounds of dirt or sand in cracks in driveways, along flowerbeds, or inside the home on the floor. They commonly come up through the slits in hardwood floors, around baseboards, and around construction joints.
